IQALUIT – On December 6
Qulliit Nunavut Status of Women Council & Government of Nunavut Family Services are partnering with the Law Society of Nunavut & Pauktuutit Inuit Women of Canada to lead a community walk and event to mark the National Day of Remembrance and Action on Violence Against Women and Girls.
At 5:45 p.m. Iqalummiut are invited to join in the community walk starting at the Igluvut Building (Royal Bank of Canada) and ending at Nunatta Sunakkutaangit Museum, where refreshments will be served.
At 6:00 p.m., a ceremony of remembrance and hope will begin at the museum -- featuring guest speakers and musical performances.
Please join us in supporting our actions to end violence against women and girls; this is one of the top human rights issues facing Nunavut and Canada today.
